Scholarship and Assistantship

The BiMBA Scholarships/Assistantships (S&A) are designed for application by the 2011 full and part time admitted students. Scholarships are divided into four categories, while Assistantships answers to the actual requirements. All students are eligible for both if they have scored at 600 or above in their GMAT.

The applications for both Scholarships and Assistantship should be submitted together with the application package. The admitted applicants also applying for S&A would be referred to the “S&A Assessment Committee” for assessment, whose final decisions shall be conveyed to individual applicants by BiMBA Admissions Office. Students can apply for both, but can only be granted one, Scholarship and Assistantship. The granted amounts shall be deducted from total due advance payment fees.

BiMBA Scholarships for 2011 Full-time MBA Students

This scholarship will be awarded to approximately 25% of full-time students in 2011 class and worth between RMB45, 000 and half tuition. There are four scholarships available:

1. “Elite Student Scholarship” (ESS)
This scholarship will be awarded to students who have achieved outstanding scores in the overall performance assessment; a total of three ESS awards, each worth between 40%-100% of the tuition fees, will be available.

2. “Industry Specific Scholarship” (ISS)
This scholarship will be awarded to candidates with certain industry backgrounds (e.g. finance, consulting services, law, human resources, healthcare, and clean energy) to ensure a reliable supply of world-class professionals for companies in relevant fields; a total of three ISS awards, each worth RMB65,000 per recipient , will be available.

3. “Rising Star Scholarship” (RSS)
This scholarship will be awarded to young applicants with limited work experience (i.e. 3-5 years), who have an excellent educational background, competitive GMAT scores and great potential for future development, as well as well-defined career goals; a total of three RSS awards, worth RMB65,000 per recipient, will be available.

4. “Cultural Ambassador Scholarship” (CAS)
This scholarship is initiated to improve student diversity in terms of gender, nationality, specialty, international work experience, special skills/talents (e.g. dancing), etc; a total of four CAS awards, worth RMB45, 000 per recipient, will be available.

BiMBA Scholarship for 2011 Part-time MBA Students

This scholarship scheme includes “Elite Student Scholarship (ESS)”, "Cultural Ambassador Scholarship (CAS)" and “National Leader Scholarship (NLS)”, and the value of these scholarships ranges from RMB45, 000 to RMB115,000. To be eligible for these awards, the applicants must have a valid GMAT score and make the application as required.

1. “Excellence Elite Scholarship (EES)”
This scholarship will be awarded to students who have achieved outstanding scores in the performance assessment; a total of two EES awards, each worth RMB70, 000 per recipient, will be available.

2. “Cultural Ambassador Scholarship (CAS)”
This scholarship is initiated to improve student diversity in terms of gender, nationality, specialty, international work experience, special skills, etc; a total of two CES awards, worth RMB45, 000 per recipient, will be available.

3.  “National Leader Scholarship (NLS)”
This scholarship is awarded to highly talented professionals from State-owned enterprises, government organizations and institutions; a total of two NLS awards, each worth RMB55, 000 to RMB115, 000 per recipient, will be available.

BiMBA Assistantship

In addition to the aforementioned scholarship awards, Assistantship is also provided by BiMBA, in an effort to make sure that all eligible applicants, with financial difficulties or otherwise, are given the opportunity to study at BiMBA. Each applicant will be judged on his or her own merits as well as financial need. All MBA applicants from all around the world can apply and they will be evaluated by the BiMBA Assistantship Assessment Committee on an equal basis.

A certain number of assistantship, each worth between RMB 20,000 and RMB 40,000, will be available for both full-time and part-time MBA applicants. To be eligible for these awards, the applicants must have a GMAT score of 600 or above and must make the application as required.

Applicants who have been qualified as “eligible assistantship recipients” will be expected to perform certain tasks which are beneficial to the class, school and society. The actual tasks to be performed will be arranged and planned by the applicants themselves. In addition, they will also be responsible for tracking their work records and collecting assessment on their work. Before the last tuition payment, they need to report these materials to the Assistantship Assessment Committee and the committee will then assess their performance based on the materials submitted, and determine the amount of the assistantship to be granted. The value of the assistantship will be deducted from the last installment of tuition accordingly.

Graduates of the National School of Development of Peking University (formerly known as China Center for Economic Research, Peking University), especially those who have worked in the financial sector for over three years and made certain achievements or progress, are welcome to apply for the scholarship and assistantship, which to support them to take BiMBA’s MBA programs and the masters program in global finance after the MBA.

Global Sources Scholarship for BiMBA

Global Sources, a leading business-to-business media company and a primary facilitator of trade with Greater China, continues its scholarship endowment at CCER (now named National School of Development, NSD in short) for BiMBA newly-enrolled full-time MBA students in 2010 and 2011. The Scholarship fund amount is Chinese Renminbi Fifty Thousand (RMB50, 000) each to two (2) students per annual BiMBA Program, who are admitted to each of the 2010 and 2011 annual BiMBA Programs, respectively.  The Scholarships shall be used for scholarship recipients’ tuition only.

Preferential consideration in selecting Scholarship Students shall be given to those Scholarship applicants who show interest in a two (2) year management trainee program with Global Sources Group companies (and/or such sales representatives and services contractors of Global Sources Group companies as may be identified by Global Sources) upon graduation from each applicable annual BiMBA Program, and who have appropriate past work experiences in the areas of marketing, sales, advertising, e-commerce and international trade.
All applicants must have GMAT scores of 600 or above to be eligible. They are also required to apply for the “GS-BiMBA Scholarship” and send the completed application and essay together with their application package.
