
Male, citizen of China. Professor and deputy director, The China Center for Economic Research (CCER), Beijing University. B.S. of geography, Beijing University, 1986; M.S. of economics, Beijing University, 1989; Ph.D., Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1996. He currently serves as the acting director of CCER for academic affairs and editor of China Economic Quarterly. Research interests include economic transition and development in China. He has published widely in international and domestic journals as well as several sole authored and coauthored books on institutional economics and economic development in China including Ownership Transformation in China (co-author, World Bank, 2005) and Globalization and Economic Growth in China (co-editor, World Scientific, 2006). He is an associate editor of Agricultural Economics and serves in the editorial board of several domestic and international journals.
