Peter Cornelius
Visiting professor, Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School
Peter Cornelius is the Chief Economist of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group. Before joining Shell, Cornelius headed the global competitiveness program at the World Economic Forum where he served as Chief Economist and editor of the Global Competitiveness Report and various other studies on economic growth and development. Prior to that position, Cornelius was a visiting scholar at Harvard University, head of International economic research of Deutsche Bank and a senior economist with the International Monetary Fund.
Peter Cornelius is a visiting professor at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Brandeis University and lectured at several universities, including INSEAD, the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and WHU School of Management. In Shell, he is responsible for analyzing global economic trends, advising on structural shifts, especially with regard to the oil and gas markets, and contributing to the global, regional, and business scenarios. Having studied at the London School of Economics and the University of Goettingen, Cornelius holds a doctorate degree in economics. He has published articles in Corporate Governance, Far Eastern Economic Review, California Management Review, German Law Review, European Business Forum, the World Economy, etc. He has also published many books, including Corporate Governance and Capital Flows in a Global Economy, etc.
